Besides technical advice on products we offer our customers consulting and guidance to cope with increasingly complex regulatory demands. In the last few years REACH, RoHS, and WEEE and national laws have imposed increasing demands on industry regulating the whole life cycle of a product.

When applying the REACH Regulation (1907/2006/EG) it has to be taken into account that metals often show properties different from ‘normal’ chemicals. Past consultation work done on behalf of the metal producing industry and other industries, and experience with consortia work has made us aware of the problems this may cause. These, for instance, arise from the often non-existing bioavailability of many metals. It could be said that in the context of the needs of the metal industry, the study protocols specified in Regulation 440/2008/EG have not been given enough thought

We offer systematic support during the whole REACH process. This may comprise, among other things:

• representation of clients in SIEFs and consortia as well as management of consortia
• collection, evaluation, and research of data
• design of feasible study strategies and coordination of study performance by qualified test institutes which are experienced in metals and which offer a good cost / performance ratio
• regulatory services, for instance, compiling technical dossiers or risk assessments using the subject standard software such as IUCLID 5 and EUSES

Experts such as certified toxicologists support us when necessary. In addition, we would be pleased to assist our customers in selecting external advisors or test laboratories.
